Geographical limits

The Association covers an area from the Scottish Borders in the north to Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and North Lincolnshire in the south, and from the Pennines in the west to the East Coast.

About the Region

The region is a member of the British Field Target Association (BFTA) and also the National Small-bore Rifle Association (NSRA).

The Region has an excellent interclub Winter League competition that is held between the end of September and the middle of March. This is designed to introduce new shooters to competition in a friendly atmosphere, and without the pressures a national shoot may present. Each round of the Winter league consists of three disciplines - a 30 shot field target course, a 20 shot silhouette course and a 10 shot pistol course. Each discipline counts in the Club competition and in addition an individual Grand Prix is contested in field target in 5 Classes: 'AA', 'A', 'B', 'C' 'Recoiling', 'Freestyle (Open)', 'SFT' and in silhouette and pistol ungraded.

During the summer, the Region also has an interclub league consisting of 40 shots field target course and a 20 shot silhouete course. It also has an interclub Hunter Series as well as hosting two national FT events - The NEFTA Classic on the Saturday and Sunday of May Day Bank Holiday and the Regional heat of the National Grand Prix series.

NEFTA is the home to many national and world champions there is a wealth of experience of field target within the region all are willing to help and advise new comers to the sport.
